Using a chainsaw in wet wood.

Is it hard on a chainsaw to cut wood that has recently been rained on?

Answer

Tyler,

It is not a problem at all to cut wet wood with a chainsaw. The chainsaw chain is actually already wet or lubricated with a bar and chain oil to keep it from getting too hot. The extra moisture on the wood won't make any difference. The saw will run the same as it normally does.

Just be weary about cutting in wet slippery conditions because you will be more prone to lose your footing when running the chainsaw.

Be safe!
