Schefflera for firewood?

A neighbor cut down a large schefflera plant with woody trunks and limbs, about 6 inch diameter. Can these be used in our fireplace?

Answer

Schefflera can be burned as firewood. Although I am not familiar with the tree as it can't survive in the cold climate where I live, Schefflera does have a woody stem.

It probably won't make the greatest firewood, because it isn't the most dense species of wood. It will, however, burn fine in your fireplace provided that you season it properly.
