Uses for a holly tree

by Katy
(Harris ,TX)

Do holly trees have hard or soft wood? Can anything be made out of the wood from this tree?

Answer

The wood from holly trees is hard. It makes for a good firewood species. The wood from these trees is white colored and it's often used to make small boxes, chess pieces, piano keys and other small novelty items.

The foliage, of course, is commonly used in Christmas decorations.
