Mold on Kiln Dried Firewood

How do we prevent mold from forming on our kiln dried firewood?

Answer

Mold is unfortunately a reality when dealing with firewood. However, the drier the firewood, the better for resisting mold. Usually mold tends to grow on wet firewood.

My suggestion is to make sure that your kiln dried firewood stays dry. That means keeping it stored properly, elevated from the ground and covered from the rain. That should greatly reduce your chances of a mold problem.
