Leave wood as log rounds?

by BOB D
(COCHECTON NY)

Is it okay to leave firewood as 30 foot logs for a year? Will they dry somewhat?

Answer

It is fine to leave your firewood in 30 foot logs but I don't recommend it if you plan on burning the wood the following year. At 30' lengths, the logs will dry somewhat but certainly not as efficiently as cutting and splitting them right from the start. Hope this helps.
