Evergreen Trees as firewood

by CARL J.
(RICHMOND,MI)

Are pear trees and evergreen trees safe for burning in a woodstove?

Answer

Yes, pear trees and evergreen trees are safe for burning in a wood stove. All long as they are seasoned, they will work fine. Although most evergreen species are not ideal for burning in the winter as they do not heat as well as hardwoods, they are certainly safe.

For more information about firewood species, please read my page on firewood types that can be found on the navigation bar.
